Corona virus disease (COVID -19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.
The novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) causes a highly infectious and fatal disease COVID-19. It is primarily transmitted from one person to another when a healthy person comes in close contact with the respiratory droplets of the infected person. You can also catch COVID-19 if you touch any object where the droplets ejected by an infected person landed and then touch your face (eyes, ears, mouth and nose.)
What makes this disease dangerous is the fact that the symptoms initially seem to mimic a common cold or influenza. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop a serious illness due to novel coronavirus. Some of the most common symptoms of COVID-19 is any kind of cough, fever and shortness of breath.
